Museo de Vestidos Mexicanos Identity / BFA Senior Year Project
The Museo of Vestidos Mexicanos is a museum that presents to the public the great textile wealth developed in Mexico, focusing on the clothing and fashion. Clothing has always been considered a code which can determinate behaviors, certain social status, or the explicit belonging to a certain group or culture. Fibers of clothing have been woven in Mexico for about two thousand years ago. Once mestizaje was established, our identity was concretized. The attire shown in this museum has Indigenous and European roots, and to lesser extents, Arab, Asian, and African roots.
